A retail store is running advice sessions for carers next week
Being a family carer is a demanding role and one which entails lots of different responsibilities. Carers often bear considerable physical, emotional, and financial burdens – it’s true that carers are unsung heroes. It’s understandable that carers need extra support at times, but where can they find it?
During Carer’s Week, care company SuperCarers is hosting free Care Advice sessions in local John Lewis stores.
From 12-18 June, John Lewis has invited SuperCarers to run a series of drop-in advice sessions for anyone already caring for, or thinking about care for an elderly loved one.
Each session will cover the following topics:
1. What are my care options?
2. How do I pay for care?
3. Can I get local authority support?
4. How can I keep mum or dad safe at home?
There will also be plenty of opportunities to ask questions, whether you are new to care or have some experience.
The sessions are taking place in Kingston, Brent Cross, Watford and Peter Jones (Sloane Square) stores.

SuperCarers helps families to find trusted carers living in their local area. SuperCarers was founded by brothers Adam and Daniel Pike after watching their mother struggle to cope with managing their grandma’s care. Their mission is to help older people to live happily and safely in their own home for as long as they wish.
